Abstract£ºThe essential purpose of the integration of multi-scale
spatiotemporal data is to enhance the richness of the information
inside the spatiotemporal database. The object evolution model is
proposed to satisfy this demand. This paper firstly gives a general
inspection of the evolving process of the object, and then points
out that the result of its evolution includes not only the feature
changes but also the mechanism changes, the direct driver to its
evolution is a behavior of an object, the essential causation to
its evolution is the internal mechanism of the object, and the spatiotemporal
event plays the role of the information carrier among the objects.
Then the object evolution model is proposed based on this inspection.
As the basement to integrate multi-scale spatiotemporal data, the
object evolution model can retain the characteristic of the data
with different temporal-scale or different spatial-scale, and reflect
the temporal changes, especially the heteromorphic changes, and
the causalities within the evolving process. One example to illustrate
this model is also given. Finally, an organization framework of
multi-scale spatiotemporal data is proposed to facilitate the data
access based on the characteristic of multi-spatial-scale data.
